Product Training

Learning Today's Professional Development Courses enable school administrators and educators to become comfortable with the Learning Today technology in their own environment.

Teachers gain the knowledge and confidence they need to integrate technology into their curricula. Training is available on-site at each school and/or virtually.

With Learning Today’s ‘hands on’ courses educators learn to:

  • Provide differentiated instruction so students learn based on their individual profile
  • Enable students to learn essential skills to help them succeed on high stakes tests
  • Develop technology skills and learn to integrate technology with core curriculum
  • Meet required state and national standards for reading and math
  • Evaluate and track class and individual student progress toward meeting standards
  • Identify areas requiring intervention and what resources to use for effective intervention
  • Motivate and improve the performance levels of students performing below grade level
  • Meet the needs of both English-speaking and LEP students
  • Promote family involvement with online access to Learning Today’s parent reports and assignments that can be accomplished in the home

Professional Development

Learning Today has developed courses in data-driven analysis called, “Implementing Differentiated Instruction into Today’s Classroom.” These courses will allow teachers to effectively integrate today’s tools & technology into their teaching environments and focus on each student’s individual needs. The following Professional Development courses will be available

Advanced Instruction on:

  • Implementing Differentiated Instruction into today’s classroom
  • Integrating Technology into the classroom or extended-day program
  • How to make data-driven decisions for remediation and intervention

Implementation Plan

The following checklist is a blueprint that will ensure your students succeed with Smart Tutor™.

Week 1

  • Ensure that each computer has working headsets
  • Establish a date to assess students
  • Ensure monitors have read Assessment Guidelines and are adequately prepared

Week 2

  • Conduct assessments in a controlled testing environment and encourage students to be focused and to do their best
  • Review and print Assessment Reports.

Week 3

  • Schedule each student for at least an hour a week on in-class Smart Tutor instruction (approximately 3 sessions 20 minutes each).
  • Assign at least 20 minutes of Smart Tutor instruction for homework (optional)
  • Verify that each student completes an hour a week of Smart Tutor instruction using the Time On Task report.

Week 4-12

  • Schedule each student for at least an hour a week on in-class Smart Tutor instruction. (approximately 3 sessions 20 minutes each).
  • Assign at least 20 minutes of Smart Tutor instruction for homework (optional)
  • Review Progress & Intervention Reports to determine if any students are having difficulties with lessons. Assign supplemental lessons if necessary.
  • Teachers manually assign lessons to complement in-class instruction (optional)
  • LT administrator should review Teacher System Usage Reports to ensure students are spending adequate time on the system
  • Have teachers periodically meet with Learning Today account manager for booster/refresher training and Q&A.
